I really started writing this monthly journal on February 25, 2025. The more I procrastinate, the more I feel like I can't finish writing. I even feel that my writing speed can't keep up with the speed of life.
A Record of Living the Good Life Life#

Perhaps none of my monthly journals contain lies, at least not in the sense of actively lying. However, the content may have certain biases, such as hiding some unspoken dark elements or being selectively expressed.
Book Club#
After all, I've started working in Shenzhen, and the first step was to meet up with online friends from Shenzhen. I finally arranged to join @raye's book club, where I discussed our favorite books with a group of talented friends. This kind of offline communication experience is really hard to replicate online; you can feel each other's enthusiasm and the clash of ideas. (Although we lost thoroughly in Werewolf, the dramatic effect was really high.)
(I went three times in total, and it was really great. This is the video of the book club's New Year celebration.)
PS. It feels like I can arrange to meet various cyber neighbors living or working in Shenzhen. (
Supplement a prophetic dream (pseudo)
On a sunny morning, several active users on TG gathered in this small city. Although they were already familiar with each other, I was the new member of the group. In this gathering, I took on the role of a tour guide, responsible for showcasing the charm of the city.
In the carefully planned itinerary, we visited the city's iconic attractions. However, they seemed indifferent to these sights, coming from big cities or abroad. What I thought was novel might be just part of their daily life. The places I felt nostalgic about were merely unfamiliar scenes to them.
During the tour, the atmosphere became slightly dull, and they gradually turned to talk among themselves, discussing recent open-source projects they were involved in and how many stars each project had received. They also talked about which policies from big companies or countries would have what impact later on. I found it hard to join the conversation since I couldn't even spell the names of the people and things they were discussing.
One companion noticed my awkwardness and deliberately changed the subject, mentioning my previous work experience. I began to describe my first two jobs, but when it came to project details, the questions they asked made it hard for me to answer. They asked, "Is this kind of work meaningful?" "Are there better solutions here?" These questions kept coming. When I talked about my second job, I candidly admitted that that period of zero income seemed like a failure, and they showed great restraint in not laughing out loud.
The conversation fell into a deadlock again. To break the awkwardness, they prepared a quiz to try to find common topics among us. I filled out the quiz while sitting on a bench by the sea, but the result was zero points. They comforted me by saying:
"We might not all know the answers either; that's normal, don't take it to heart."
At that moment, I woke up from the dream, vaguely realizing that this group of online friends might never meet offline again.
(Some details were supplemented through imagination after waking up.)
Firefly Comic Exhibition#
The happiest thing in life is to always have someone accompany you to comic exhibitions.
Every year, a fixed event is to go to comic exhibitions with friends and chat about various experiences over the past year.
I forgot if it was the fifth or sixth consecutive year I've been to this comic exhibition; this time it was a make-up for the one I missed in 2024. This time, my friend upgraded their camera and spent the whole time capturing various cosplayers like catching little spirits. It was the longest we spent there, starting at 10:15 AM and planning to leave at 2:00 PM, but we ended up taking many photos of cosplayers on the way out. We finally left at 3:00 PM.
(We first bought some snacks)
(Poor quality photo taken casually by the photographer)
(Edited photo by the photographer)
(There were handsome guys, but we didn't gather enough seven shirtless handsome guys, which was a bit of a pity)
(But your blue LSP was even more crowded, there were so many people the whole time, completely unable to squeeze in)
Things During the Spring Festival Holiday#
After the New Year, I returned to work, and the moment I powered on my computer, I felt my brain starting up as well. It was like experiencing a time jump in a microwave.
Since I hadn't recorded anything in the past few years, I took the opportunity to recall on the first day back to work.
01.24 Took a bus for the whole morning and finally got home at noon. Watched 3-4 episodes of Mujica on the way, and in the evening, went shopping for New Year's goods with my family, spending nearly a thousand yuan in total. Fortunately, after working for two months, the year-end bonus barely saved the day.
01.25 Spent 6 hours clearing the 3.0 star Iron storyline to draw the big black tower, even using cash abilities. However, I still hadn't drawn the exclusive weapon (I managed to draw it a few days later by fighting the cosmic insect disaster).
01.26 Went out to buy some nuts and dried fruits for the New Year. Then I didn't do much else. I seemed to be watching "Saying Three Points."
01.27 Spent the whole day immersed in reading Liu Bo's "Saying Three Points" and finished it. It really is three points in every sense.
01.28 On New Year's Eve, I spent most of the time at home eating, drinking, and chatting. Bought some seafood for a New Year's dinner reform, but three people eating nine dishes was still too much. To show off WeChat red envelopes, I sent out a few hundred yuan in red envelopes (even though I'm not married yet), and I also fiddled with an APTV app to help my family watch the Spring Festival Gala live. Fortunately, the video played smoothly throughout without any lag.
01.29 On the first day of the new year, I teamed up with @LavaC to play "Don't Starve Together." After not playing for months, I had to go through a "rehabilitation" to relearn, and we played through an almost dead autumn. However, since @LavaC was busy with work, I felt a rising sense of guilt while inviting them to team up. (I used the computer in the Shenzhen dormitory as the server.)
01.30 On the second day of the new year, as per tradition, I went to my mother's family's A clan to pay New Year visits. By the time we returned, it was already past ten at night. My twin cousins (childhood playmates) have now also entered the halls of marriage, which is quite emotional.
01.31 On the third day of the new year, I visited local relatives. The highlights of the day were morning tea, afternoon hiking, and in the evening, we watched a movie that my older cousin specially adjusted for our schedule—"Detective Chinatown 1900." They even watched two movies in one day, which is impressive.
02.01 On the third day, I returned to my hometown. This time, I drove myself, and it felt a bit unfamiliar to take the highway, making it a new practice experience. The lunch wasn't very tasty.
02.02 On the fourth day of the new year, it was rare to have a leisurely day with no formal arrangements. So I continued to team up with @LavaC to play "Don't Starve Together," having a great time from morning till night. (However, the server deployment method could have been better.)
02.03 On the fifth day, my family drove me back to Shenzhen while also starting their journey to visit friends from 40 years ago in Shenzhen. We still couldn't avoid traffic jams, but we specifically took the Shenzhong Passage, which added about half an hour to the trip. We had lunch at "Green Tea," and in the afternoon, we went to Nan'ao, but didn't meet any acquaintances, just took a quick tour.
02.04 On the sixth day, the last day of the holiday, my father finally found a long-lost friend, most of whom have gone to Hong Kong or abroad. In the afternoon, I hurried back to the dormitory to pack my things. Bought a new charger and other miscellaneous items.
It turns out that all plans during the holiday are impossible to realize. However, I didn't do much and just came back. After returning, I played a weekend of "Don't Starve Together" (single player).
Work Matters - Early Confirmation#
I'm still a complete novice, mainly doing basic work like "connecting various devices to various IoT platforms." Fortunately, my current boss is very nice, giving me plenty of freedom to explore and delve deeper. Moreover, I got confirmed in the second month, which is truly a cause for celebration.
I might update some articles about tinkering with home assistants later.

Some Adjustments During This Time#
This monthly journal was supposed to have the largest section here, but I'm still trying to practice, so it will take some time before I can speak with authority.
Focus on Physical Health: Start from diet, sleep, and exercise to restore health. I plan to have a physical examination around the end of April as a "final exam." (Refer to The Sugar Revolution Why Do We Get Fat? Crazy Uric Acid Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
Actively Maintain Interpersonal Relationships: Recently, I've been trying to use Reminder to remind me of friends at different intervals, such as regularly checking specific friends' Moments, TG channels, and X timelines. I also chat about recent happenings and, if possible, arrange to meet for a meal. I've also tried to participate in some online or offline communities that foster connections with others.
Save My Attention: I plan to increase the proportion of information input from books to match the level of Feed-type information reading and limit the way I read Feed. (Not to the extreme of stopping reading the news)
Every day, I make many decisions on my own and then discard many things. It's a cycle.
Complaints - I Feel Like I'm Becoming a Social Butterfly#

- Three options for April: Go to Hong Kong to get a card + health check + invite high school classmate L to Shenzhen for fun.
- In May, if possible, attend the Nintendo offline Switch2 trial event in Hong Kong.
PS. I need to pay attention to the series of things regarding passport + visa + Hong Kong and Macau travel permit!!!
👀 What Else Have I Watched#
📚 🎬 📺 Works#
All my rating standards are based on the non-universal work rating standards - niracler I wrote before, but I recently saw a rating standard for Galgame from another source that is super detailed, which I really admire. I plan to update mine later.
(The table below is in reverse chronological order.)
Work & Product Name | Medium | Progress | Rating | Complaints |
---|---|---|---|---|
Nezha: The Devil's Child (2025) | Movie | 100% | 8.5/10 | Just as "Black Myth: Wukong" gave me a preliminary impression of game sales, "Nezha 2" also gave me a preliminary understanding of box office. The film is well-produced, and the scene where Nezha breaks free from confinement is truly exhilarating. (Unfortunately, I completely forgot the plot of the first film, making it hard to understand the bond between Nezha and Ao Bing.) Also, I watched it too late. There were too many viewers, and spoiler parties gathered. As soon as a character appeared, someone directly revealed, "This is the behind-the-scenes BOSS!" As the plot progressed, they began shouting, "This was done by XXX." I could only confront the spoiler monster on the spot. |
Detective Chinatown 1900 (2025) | Movie | 100% | 6.5/10 | It could actually get a 7.5 rating, as aside from being a bit chaotic at the beginning, it tied up various threads well later on. It's a very high-quality work. However, sorry, I am allergic to traditional Chinese medicine. |
Saying Three Points | Book | 100% | 9/10 | Discusses the story of the Three Kingdoms from three perspectives: history, folklore, and romance, with very rich content. Each chapter has a small theme, stringing together the entire story of the Three Kingdoms from beginning to end. (It's very suitable for publication on public accounts.) It's the kind of book you can randomly flip through two chapters of when you have free time by your bedside. Consistent with Liu Bo's style, it's very easy to read. At the same time, I was surprised by the huge differences between folk narratives and historical narratives, and how the romantic narrative finds a balance between the two must have gone through many generations of iteration. Moreover, the romantic narrative usually does not involve complex internal faction struggles and does not emphasize the importance of civil officials like Xun Yu, as ordinary people cannot understand. Recently, I've also been thinking about how to simply and clearly explain the importance of AI to my family and encourage them to use it. My previous understanding of the Three Kingdoms story mainly came from the game "Cao Cao Zhuan" and the series of lectures "Yi Zhongtian's Three Kingdoms." I know very little about the story after Cao Cao's death, and the place names mentioned in the book, like Jingzhou, I have no geographical concept of. I feel like I should check out the 1994 version of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" TV series. |
The Sugar Revolution | Book | 60% | 7/10 | I really got a dynamic blood glucose meter to test it. |
Breaking Hell (2024) | Movie | 100% | 8/10 | Not only the dead need to break hell, but the living must also break hell. |
Crazy Uric Acid | Book | 80% | 7/10 | Fructose is truly a great evil. |
Mita MiSide (2024) | Game | 90% | 8/10 | I am the one who was cured of my cowardice; after the infinite corridor, I am no longer so fearful. Waiting for subsequent updates, I quite like the sleepy Mita, but it's a pity that the sleepy attribute makes it hard to have more plot. |
Cutting Open the Belly Only Releases Blood | Book | 100% | 6.5/10 | To freely express one's true thoughts is great, and many people want to achieve this. But it's not something to be proud of, as "cutting open the belly only releases blood." Being overly real is just mutual harm. The protagonist is named Ai, with the title "Cutting Open the Belly." Looking at it from the 2024 perspective, it's a bit hard to describe. I guess I am no longer youthful and can't relate to this kind of youthful pain literature, nor can I relate to Qining. However, I can somewhat relate to Shuliya and the older group. At the end of the journey, breaking off ties and pulling back the haters to return to the stage was very exciting. It feels like "a lot of things were randomly stuffed into the heart." As for claiming to be the second episode of the "Viscera Series," which took two years to be translated, I guess the "reopening" of Zhuye Ye didn't go smoothly either. (Four stars to lower the score.) |
Ding Ji (1998) | TV Series | 100% | 9/10 | I haven't seen other versions, but the Chen Xiaochun version of Wei Xiaobao and the Ma Junwei version of Kangxi have become benchmarks in my heart; I fear that watching other adaptations will be hard to reach this feeling. Some say this is the "reverse Dream of the Red Chamber," where Wei Xiaobao goes from having nothing to having everything, while Jia Baoyu goes from having everything to having nothing. Jin Yong must have been inspired by "Dream of the Red Chamber" while writing. It is indeed very different from Jin Yong's previous works. There is no chivalrous spirit, no vows of love, and winning in the end is all about various calculations. In Wei Xiaobao's world, aside from life and death, righteousness is paramount, while other moral norms are hardly worth mentioning. Every time Xiao Guizi and Xiao Xuanzi meet, the background music is super touching, and the plot is often the most relaxed and pleasant. The lyrics of the ending song hit me hard: "But after leaping to the peak, the mindset has gradually changed," "Having won everything in the world, yet you are not seen." It's a complex relationship between monarch and minister, reminding me of various friends I have lost contact with over the years. PS. Chen Shaoxia's performance as Shuang'er is too cute, and she can also use acupuncture points; she is simply the cheat code for Wei Xiaobao, who has no martial arts. |
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder | Book | 100% | 8/10 | It's a very good popular science book on ADHD. While reading (or listening), I felt like my symptoms were off the charts. I feel it's necessary to consult a relevant doctor. Is this the Barnum effect? It applies to most people, but individuals feel that these descriptions particularly fit their situation. Of course, I probably don't have impulsive violence or frequent car accidents. There are also questions like "Did my behavioral habits exacerbate the symptoms of ADHD, or did ADHD itself cause these behaviors?" It's a chicken-and-egg problem. Anyway, I believe that the viewpoint of "everyone is like this" is not a reason for us to ignore or avoid discussion. Moreover, staying away from triggers of ADHD (like social media, short videos), maintaining exercise, and getting enough sleep is always right. |
